Hi all,

I have some important and urgent questions to ask for your help here.

I plan to drive to Canada for landing from USA through Buffalo. I am still a student here in US and I will go there this time just for landing and I will come back to US and stay for another half year to finish my school before I permanently move to Canada. This time, I will just to to apply for my maple card and SIN card.

On my Confirmation of Permanent Residence (CPR), it didn't mention any details about the requirement for landing, like what to bring and what not to. But I heard that I need to prepare for two lists: list of goods and list of goods to follow. Since I will drive there and come back. I am just wondering should I put my car as list of goods or goods to follow. Someone told me that I can't make the border officer think that I just come for short term. So, I am really confused about landing by driving to Canada from USA. Is there anyone who can give me a relative complete list of what to do or how to prepare for this landing thing.

Any suggestions or advice would be greatly appreciated!

Mike

Hi Mike2ca! I think you should plan to stay for around 1-2 months after landing until you get your PR card to be on the safer side, you are student so you should hav vacation for next month or take a semester off or go for online classes..........
This is my personal suggestion. You think about all the factors and then decide....
