Urgent Query - passport number in IELTS certificate & EE profile different

Hi All. I got ITA in January 2017. I am collecting required documents. I just realized some goof-up in my documents and now I am scared like hell.

I appeared for IELTS in November 2015 and in the result certificate, candidate ID which was my passport number then, was printed as (say) N123456.

In the meantime, my address got changed because of which I had to modify my passport details and my new passport came with number (say) J123456 in February 2016.

Then in March 2016, I submitted my express entry profile with this new passport number (J123456). I got ITA in Janaury 2017 and now I am collecting documents.

But Just today I realized that passport number in my IELTS certificate (N123456) and in my express entry profile (J123456) are different.

Will my e-APR get rejected? Or I should upload both passport copy and clarify in my letter of explanation what happened. Will they accept it?

Your application will not be rejected. You are good to go.

Thanks everyone Stanlee, vishalg, canadawecome.. +1 for all of you.. Lets hope and I'll pray they don't doubt that candidate in IELTS certificate and in e-APR are 2 different candidates because of 2 different passport numbers.. I know IELTS is valid for 2 years and people do change address and may change on passport also but as much as passport number in EE profile and e-APR are the new updated one, it should not be a problem.. Fingers crossed

I know IELTS is valid for 2 years and people do change address and may change on passport also but as much as passport number in EE profile and e-APR are the new updated one, it should not be a problem.. Fingers crossed

Forget it, this won't be a problem at all.
This is very practical and can happen with anybody and they understand that (when supported with a copy of your old passport).
