I have the same question. I married my partner from India recently. It will take 10 weeks for the marriage to get registered. What should I fill in my PCC marital status, since I have no proof of Marriage? I need the PCC for applying my citizenship and sponsoring my partner

Hi I have the below question . I am WP in Canada and my spouse is also with me. We need to apply for Indian PCC for express entry.

The problem is - We got married 3 years back but our parents don't know about it. And we don't want them to know as well just yet :

My passport doesn't have my spouse name and our marriage is not registered in India as well - we had got married out side India.
I had got my passport renewed last year from Canada and in that also i had listed marital status as Single.

How to proceed with PCC -form in BLS is asking for Marital Status - can we just say single ?
Does BLS check as well - my spouse is on open spouse work permit in Canada.
Will it create any problem with PR process / PCC ?

If we mention as Married , cops ask about Marriage when they go for inquiry so I that's why I am hesitant in mentioning as married on the BLS form :(

Can someone please advise on how to proceed - Really stressed- Will appreciate if someone can help based on personal experience
You must declare your correct marital status on the PCC form.

Do not put single if you are legally married. Giving incorrect information can create serious issues later, especially with PR, citizenship, or sponsorship. IRCC can verify details with Indian authorities.

PCC is for criminal background, but all forms must still be truthful.

If police verification happens in India, they may visit your home address. Whether they speak to your parents depends on the local process, but that is separate from your immigration file.

Bottom line, do not misrepresent. Always declare married if you are married.
