Pre-Assessed..
Hi Guys,

I need some urgent help. I am applying under FSW category 1. I have some queries:

1.) As per the info pdf it says that I don't need to send any supporting documents with the application. Just to clarify that I haven't missed anything I need to send the IELTS Test resuts, Medical Test results, Employement proofs, Proof of Funds letter and everything when I am asked. While applying I have to send only the application forms which are 4 in numbers (Main application, background, Additional Family Information, Section 3).

2.) There is a representative form too. Is it mandatory? Does it helps if I submit one? One of my friends might act as representative.

3.) I am yet to give my IELTS. I think a better option is to give IELTS first and then apply with the scores. What you suggest?

I will put on my queries as they come in my mind, if any.

Thanks a lot in advance.

Thanks Rupesh.

I am from India. Now my dilemma is if I wait for IELTS then it will delay my application by around a month at least. And I don't want to lose precious time. If I apply without it then I will have my application submitted now with the written description that they asked. Yeah they will ask for my IELTS scores but I would have atleast be in the immigration process line already.

If I apply now then 6-12 months will be like August-Jan2010 time period. If I delay it by a month then it will be like september-feb '10. And due to some personal reasons I need to do it asap.

Please advice.

I think I got the answer in the instruction manual. It says:

"Applicants who are using Category 1 should not submit their test results or written submission to Centralized Intake Unit (CIU) in Sydney, Nova Scotia Canada. The test results or written submission will be requested at a later stage if the application is recommended for further processing by a Canadian Visa Office.

However, it is recommended that all applicants using this category complete their language test or their written submission before submitting their application to the CIU in Sydney, Nova Scotia Canada so that they know in advance how many language points they will attain on the selection grid.

Note: The descriptions above are meant to provide you with an informal self-assessment only. If you decide to apply to immigrate Canada as a skilled worker, you must provide conclusive proof of your language abilities."

So, I can submit the application now and give IELTS. If i don't score well I can take it again while my application is in the process. Moreover, if I am not getting a good score then I anyway's won't qualify, irrespective of the fact whether I have submitted the application or not. It is better to get the application in process line while I prepare and give IELTS.

Query Update:

Query 1:
I have one more query. In the main application under the family information section there are spaces to provide photographs for the family. But in the instruction manual (Page 29) it says that:

"All applicants must submit photos with their application except for applicants using Category 1.

Note: You should still prepare your photos in case you are recommended for further assessment by CIU in Sydney, Nova Scotia Canada to a Canadian Visa Office.
"

So, it means have to send the application without ANY of my family member's photographs? And what about my own photograph in the first page of the application?

Query 2:
What should I fill in the family name if it is blank in the passport? Should I leave it blank or write "N/A"?

Just a last one: I don't have to affix even my photo too?

Btw, thanks a lot for the reply. You have really helped me a lot :). I really appreciate it.

Greetings!

I wanted to pay registration fees but the bank and the post office in the country where I am living now asked me the name of receiver and bank account. But in the application form and guide it says made payable to the “Receiver General for Canada” is there any experience in this regard? What is the other option to pay the fees? Please let me know as soon as possible!

1.) Make sure that the bank you are using has a branch in Canada.

2.) You don't need to know the account number. The brank draft should be favouring "Recevier General for Canada", payable at Canada.

All the Best !!!

please do advise where to get the pdf file for the new FSW instructions
