Urgent Processing reasoning

I put my PR renewal app in on June 26th, I've been planning for a few months to take a trip snowboarding in California when my work holidays start in December. I haven't booked tickets yet, but I'm thinking I might go ahead and do that, then apply for urgent processing.

My question is, do they process urgently for leisure reasons? Or am I at the mercy of the CIC processing times?

I also submitted my Pr card renewal application on June 26 which was received by cic as per tracking on June 29. Also thinking of resubmitting application for urgent processing. I already have my flight in December booked. Didn't know that the processing time would increase to 171 days... I'm so stressed out

Yeah it was 62 days when I submitted the application, and I was planning on heading home to New Zealand for christmas :(

I would submit your urgent application!

You don't have to give them your reasons for travelling abroad. At least I didn't back in May (when I renewed my card) and I didn't read anything in their instruction guide either. You only need to prove them you have roundtrip tickets fully paid for.
