Hi:
My story in a nutshell...
1. I sent my passport to Cairo from Canada to get my PR visa printed so I can do my landing. I'm in Canada on a work visa but had done my immigration application through the Cairo Office.
2. The Canadian embassy in Egypt had contacted me requesting me to send my passport so the PR entry visa can be printed. They received my passports May 24th. On June 24th they replied to one of status requests via email to say that they will send the passports soon.
3. I have not heard from them since and they are not replying to my emails. Its been over 8 weeks that they've had my passports and quite frankly I'm freaking out about my family and I's passports, and of course immigration status.
I do not know what to do so I'm asking the forum to ask for any help or advice on what I can do to find out the status of my passports. I tried calling and emailing on a daily basis but no reply at all. My phone number has changed since I moved to Canada for work from Egypt, but I have updated my address with immigration in November. So they have all my up to date contact information. The status on the immigration website states that a decision has been made. So I'm clearly frustrated and don't know what to do.
I know that there is a strike with the foreign service workforce and its affecting these visa services. But 8 weeks to print a visa is a really long time. I know the situation in Egypt isn't helping either.
Please help.
Thanks
Mohamed.
