Hi,

I had applied for TRV online based on work permit on 19th November 2014 and sent my passport to Ottawa, they received on 28 November. I have to leave on 13th of December, heard from a lot of them saying that cic takes more than 14 days for TRV, sometimes 30 days, i am really tensed now, my flight tickets are confirmed. Can any one PLEASE suggest me a solution, what to do? Your Comments mean a lot.

You can just email them and wait for them to reply. My passport is received on November 2 and still waiting.

Average waiting time is 20-40 natural days from the moment you start your application to the moment it is back to your door.

No solution really.

Just wanted to post my timeline.

Application type: Paper
Sent: Oct 28, 2014
Received in Ottawa: Oct 30, 2014
Returned to me: Dec 4, 2014

The processing times on the website (http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/times/temp.asp) currently says that it takes 14 days to process. They are currently working on applications received on Nov 7, 2014. I would email them, you have nothing to lose.

The update that they are working on applications received on November 07th is from 13 days ago (November 21st). So probably they are now working on applications received on November 20th.

My friend submitted his application on November 6th. His passport was received in Ottawa on November 24th, and he hasn't heard from them yet. It is definitely talking long.

The time posted is just an average for 80% of the application. It is not written in stone, neither there is a commitment to reach a decision in the time stated. Some get it super quick, some even take 2 months to get it.

hey buddy did you hear back anything from the CIC even i have submitted my online application on Nov 11th and request for passport was made on Nov 26 . I sent my passport on Dec 1 and deliver status shows received on Dec,02. And further more even i am flying to India on the same date as you are Dec 13 now i am worried :'( :'( thinking of waiting until tomorrow to postpone my flight ticket,since it takes 2 days to be delivered anyways
 
My status change to close on the CIC website but haven't got my passport yet by any chance would you guy be knowing how long will it take for the passport to be dispatched since i have to fly on Sat. Help appreciated thank you

Dispatched in 1-4 days plus mailing time.
 
but buddy trying to track through canada post i cannot see any tracking info does it mean the passport hasn't been dispatched??? thank you

Just wondering if anyone of you have gotten your expresspost tracker activated? here is my timeline

online application:Nov 11th
passport request cpc ottawa: Nov 26 2014
passport received : Nov 27 2014

I have a ticket booked for Dec 15th which I think I'll have to cancel or postpone,I'm just wondering how much longer I'll have to wait for my passport or what's the average returning time. This is soo frustrating. >:(

My passport received by them on 18-Nov. Return CanadaPost tracking is not showing any result yet. I need it by 23rd.
