Hello,

I sponsored my mother and the IRCC told me that the imm5406 was not filled as needed.
My mother is divorced when I was less than 1 year old, and I have a half-brother and half-sisters
The imm 5406 was filled with all the information in the section A,B and C

My mother has only one son who is me and I am permanent resident (I am not concerned, so I didn’t filled a copy of imm 5406, tell me please if it is incorrect)

So I filled only one copy with my mother name, I put all information about me, my half-brother and sisters (although I thought that it is not necessary because there is nothing between them they never met each other) and all sisters and brothers for my mother.

At the end the IRCC sent me an email saying that there is a lack of information in this imm5406 and they sent me a letter as a last chance.

To sum up, my mother has only one son which is me (a permanent resident); 5 brothers and sisters and one son-in-law and 4 daughter-in-law. The question is who should fill the imm 5406, it’s really urgent it’s my last chance, please help me!!

I for one have no idea what this jumble of words is supposed to mean.

How can your mother have sons and daughters-in-law if only one son? Makes no sense, unless you've been very active indeed. Who are the half-siblings children of? No wonder IRCC asked to do it over.

Start over and try to make it clear. Keep it simple.

If there are children from multiple marriages, you're going to have to make it clear which marriages and who was involved.

Hi

Yes you're right I was nervous when writing !
I was born after my mother and father divorce. After that my father was married again and gets 1 son and 4 daughters and all of them are above 18 (my father is dead after that) and my mother was not married again.

I am trying to sponsor my mother and I am the only son from her marriage and I am permanent resident. So my mother has no persons in her charge.

I sent a copy of imm5406 only for my mother, but the IRCC told me that they require additionnal information and ask me to submit additional Information with Form (IMM 5406) completed, signed and dated for the principal applicant and all
dependents aged 18 or over, whether accompanying or not

I was confused and I did a mistake and I added in the second time my half-brother and half-sisters as son-in-law and daugthers-in- law in the copy of my mother.

now they ask me the same thing again for the third time and they ask the imm5406 for the principal applicant and all
dependents aged 18 or over, whether accompanying or not.

I sent since the first time an explicative letter to explain that my mother has no family members in her charge, but they don't stop asking the same thing.

Please let me know if it is clear ! I need help urgently because it is my last chance to do it correctly

Thank you

You have hopelessly complicated it all. This is rather simple.

Complete the forms for her again. On 5406, she is divorced - no spouse. (Probably need to show somewhere that ex-spouse is also deceased).

Children: only you. The others have no relation to her whatsoever in reality.

Half-brothers etc: empty (assuming she has none). Children of her ex-spouse are no relation of hers. Their spouses are also not relations of hers.

Given you've made such a complicated situation of this, include a short explanation:

-Your mother was divorced in [year], you are the only child. Ex-spouse is now deceased.

-Ex-spouse had children. They are no relation of your mother's. They are half-brothers etc of yours but you should not have included them in the 5406 for your mother. Repeat: they are NOT relations of your mother's, and neither are their spouses. Sorry for confusion.

Hi

Thank you very much, you made it easy

So one copy for my mother and another one for me and that's all!

My mother has also brothers and sisters, I should keep them in the imm 5406 but we don't need to fill a copy for each of them, is that right?!

Sorry to ask too much but I don't want to get in trouble again.

Please to confirm.

Again thank you, you saved me!

Read the instructions care-full-y. Because it is perfectly clear that brothers and sisters of the applicant - your mother - are NOT dependents.

And you are sponsoring your mother, right?

Then you cannot be her dependent. What did you put in the IMM 0008? That tells IRCC who are the PA (your mother's) dependents. If you fill in IMM0008 incorrectly, they will ask for each dependent to fill an IMM 5406.
