HI GDAYMATE,

Earlier u had replied to one of my posts saying:

4) Impossible to answer accurately - you would need to submit an application for an Open Work Permit when you apply for PR. Mark that application as "not to be processed until AIP" (Approval in Principle = First Stage Approval). This is the first step in Inland PR and means that your husband has been approved to sponsor you and also that you are eligible to be sponsored (your relationship satisfies the requirements of the class under which you applied). This could take up to 6 months but it could be more or less than that too.

MY QUESTION IS CAN I SIMPLY WRITE AT THE TOP OF THE OPEN WORK PERMIT FOR "NOT TO BE PROCESSED UNTIL AIP"

SINCE ITS AN OFFICIAL FORM AM A LITTLE DOUBTFUL OF WRITING A QUOTE AT THE TOP

Well, I'm not GDAYMATE, but I'll take a stab at this. I'm not sure about the background to this question but I'm assuming you're talking about the proper way to submit an open work permit application WITH your inland PR application. If so, it is to be included in the same envelope with the PR ap and I've not heard that you have to write anything like, "Not to be processed until AIP on it". There's nothing wrong with that, but I think they already know that . . . but if you wanted to do that, I'd suggest you either put the OWP application in a separate envelope and write it on the outside, and then include that envelope in the mailing envelope with the inland ap, or you might just want to write the message on a sticky note and attach it to the OWP ap.

If the situation is that you've already submitted an inland ap and didn't include the OWP ap with it - and now you want to send an OWP but you don't want it processed until AIP (so it doesn't get kicked back to you because you're not eligible yet), then I'd definitely write on the outside of the mailing envelope, and include a cover letter inside explaining that you have an inland ap in process (client ID# included, if you have it) and that you want them to wait to process the OWP until after a decision has been made on first stage approval.

Hope this helps - and hopefully, if I've misunderstood, gdaymate will show up and clarify things.
