Hi guys, this post is on behalf of my boyfriend who is now anxious as hell. He submitted his study permit application and has gone over and beyond to supplement his application. He works in the UAE.
He had a previous employer, lets call them X, who used to not pay him etc so he left this employer after filing a complaint against her because she refused to accept his resignation and was not cancelling his employment visa which is his right. His post at the time officially and stamped on his visa is business development manager but his work was of that of an Business development executive which is what he has stated on the visa form and his LOE. This made sense because he when he joined the job was only 24 and that is not realistic to be a manager when you have just graduated.
What can he do to correct it? It was not to mislead at all intact he put a position which is lower than his official title because this was the truth of his job. He is obviously distraught because he's afraid they would think he's lied on his CV. The good thing is when they check his employment visa (old) they will see that his official designation also says business development manager.
what would you guys suggest he do? Write a letter to the embassy and submit new cv? Or let it be? The visa consultant thinks it's not a major problem and the word 'executive' and 'manager' can be used interchangeably. His current company has given him an employment letter which is attached to his application. The old employer who is a massive *ahem* will never provide him with a letter of experience but he has his company contract which states business development manager.
Would really appreciate your help!!! Thanks!!! Sorry for the long post!
