On Dec 17, I, a USA citizen, applied to extend my stay in Canada while Canada Immigration processes my permanent residency application as a religious worker. And of course my Alberta health coverage expires. However, I got a 90 day extension on my health care until April 9. However, the processing time for a visitor extension for a religious worker I see is 160 days.

This means I'd be without coverage for 44 days. My question is... could I go to the US border and renew it before I lose my health insurance? My visitor record expires January 9th.

Thanks for your help...

Can anyone help please?

I would go to a Service Alberta office and ask there...

Thanks!

I called these phone numbers and the initial recording on both said they deal with land titles...servicealberta.gov.ab.ca/591.cfm

Is this what you were referring to?

No.

And don't use the phone, go in person.

Remember where you got your Alberta Health Card? Well the same place, usually they can be found in an Alberta Registry. There are tons spread around the province.
