I'm a Canadian permanent resident and I'm visiting the US for business just for the weekend. My flight back is early Monday morning before the Canadian consulate opens.

I forgot my card at home! I've always had it on me, but recently I took it out of my wallet in fear of losing it and left it with my passport. When I got my passport for the trip I completely forgot about the card!!

I can't afford to extend my stay. I'm in a super expensive part of the US that another company is paying for. Neither me or my company can pay to extend my stay here.

What are my options? My wife sent me photos of the card and she can bring it to the airport when I land. Am I gonna have issues boarding? What can I do?

A possible option is for my wife to 24h FedEx it to me. It feels risky in case it doesn't get here in time.

Driving is not an option, I'm at the far opposite side of the content. Fedex sends like the best option despite the risk.

What passport do you hold?

Ah - yes, then your only real option is Fedex. You won't be allowed to board the plane without your actual PR card.

In that case you really have two options. The first is to delay your flight home until your PR card arrives. The second is to change your flight to a US airport that's close to the US/Canadian border and enter Canada via land using a private vehicle.

In any case, it looks you cannot checkin to your tomorrow morning flight unless your PR card arrives in time.

Update: I'm home! FedEx and extending my stay was really the best option. I got pretty lucky! I was able to change my flight date without fees due to the California fire. And managed to stay at a cousin's place who was out of town. It was a blessing in disguise, I ended up spending the extra 2 days on the beach decompressing after a crazy busy 2 weeks leading up to the trip.

Thank you all for the advice!

I was waiting for an update. Glad that worked out in your favor. Add one to your cool stories, though the California fires are tragic.
