Urgent Help Regarding Spousal Open Work Permit

Hi All

I am currently studying at Thompson Rivers University in BC. My husband has open work permit till 31st Dec 2014. Just want to ask if my spouse need to leave Canada every 6 months and come back?O he can stay in the country without leaving untill his permit is valid. Any help in this regard is helpful.

He don't need to leave Canada after 6 months.
He can stay till the expiry of Work permit.
