My family applied for H&C application it was recently approved in the first stage, and an exemption was granted by CIC. The issue is they have a removal order from CBSA they were to leave Canada January of this year. Their lawyer insist on them getting a new work permit and turning themselves in to CBSA for detention to get rid of the warrant. Do they have to turn themselves in for detention? What is the process?
