My uncle was in the middle of processing his spouse when he became terminally ill.

He died before the application was approved, they didn't speed it up despite numerous requests from my dad's family. They never gave her a visitor's visa either, although there were extenuating circumstances there that were such that the visitor's visa was never, ever going to be approved.

Here is what comes to my mind for proof of return:

1. Her employment letter
2. She has a kid (under 18) from previous marriage. Should she bring the kid's birth certificate? The kid is also included in sponsorship application.
3. Her properties? Apartment ownership certificate?

What other documents can help to convince the visa officer that she will return.

The above are all good proof, especially the child left behind. Other investments she has should be included too - such as bank accounts, any investments, etc.
Also a return ticket with a specific date.
She should also include evidence they have applied for a PR visa for her, such as a copy of the fee receipt.

What country is she from?

I can't thank you enough for all your support.

We are about to send out hospital letters, PR card copy and the husband's bank account information to his wife. So she can bring these documents to the visa office.

Should we (husband's relatives in Canada) send anything from our end? There is no need for invitation letter from us, right? Under what category will she be applying? not tourist, not visit, ... private? Emergency? There are list of documents required for visitor visa, however, her situation is unusual. For example, we can't send the husband's employment letter, etc..

Please advice.

She will just be applying for a visitor visa - the usual one.
So try to get all the documents requested for the visitor visa, and then add the documents you need to prove her unique case.

Sponsorship approval just came in today from Mississauga. Should she include this approval when she apply for visitor visa? I guess the question is should we disclose the sponsorship application when she applies for visitor visa?
