Hello,

I am an applicant for FSW 2014 program. I received a package from CIC today addressed to me but the application and supporting documents belong to another applicant. This a huge mistake because now I am not sure if CIC sent my application and documents to the other applicant. The only place my name and address are mentioned are on the cover letter from CIC, everything else belongs to another applicant from Illinois.

Is there anyone on this forum that had a similar experience with CIC? What should I do? Return the package to CIC - This will cost me money for CIC's mistake. Can I call CIC and explain to them about the situation? Call the other applicant (his number must be on his application I received) and send the package to him?

Help guys!

Sounds very weird..

What should I do? Return the package to CIC - This will cost me money for CIC's mistake => I suggest not to do, not sure if its again lost somewhere..

If I were you, I would help that poor guy by calling him on phone or email and let him know the situation...he will take care of rest...

Btw what the purpose CIC sent it back , rejected ?? if yes what was the reason for rejection?

Thanks. I didn't want look at all the confidential docs of another applicant but the cover letter from CIC says that they need some additional documents and changes in already sent documents to proceed further. I don't think it was rejection entirely but a chance to reapply.

I will contact the other applicant and let him know the situation. What if CIC swapped our packages? What if this other guy received my documents.

Then jst excuse CIC ;D and exchange your documents and continue your applications..wish you good luck..

btw I have just sent my application NOC 2171, from USA what about you ? what should I expect next..how soon can I get an case # or some kind of update from them..I actually missed photocopies of education documents, I just included WES report

My application was sent towards the end of June ;)
It takes a few months before we hear anything from CIC. Hang in there. Good luck.

I agree with this but I would also try to find out the status of my own application--whether it might have been sent to someone else! :o :o :o

Now I am worried that some stranger might have my confidential information. My entire life history is on those documents - date of birth, place of birth, addresses for the last 10 years, where I worked and work...this is a big blunder committed by CIC. How could they do this?

Unfortunately an office handling so many applications is bound to make such a mistake once in a while. It sure is unacceptable though.

On the other side that you also have access to all the confidential information of other person .

I would suggest mail that person or call and explain the situation , then you can both send each other each others file :)

I contacted the other applicant and informed him about the situation. He hasn't received anything from CIC. So, it looks like my application is out there somewhere and nobody knows anything about it.

I called CIC in Sydney this morning and spoke with a representative and explained the situation to her. She said she will write to Centralized Intake Office about this mailing error and requested me to return the package to the sender (CIC). When I asked her about the status of my application (its whereabouts) she said I should email CIC about it. I just hope my application is not in the wrong hands.

I really hope this gets resolved soon.
