I guess your account number is your studend ID if you are paying online.

I am also planning to pay thru wire transfer with Wester Union

I paid through direct wire transfer (which is going to phase out anytime) and yet not clear if they will accept it or not. Most probably by Tues will get to know.

Problem with Western Union is they were charging much more than the actual CAD rate eg I paid through HDFC. The rate of CAD I got from HDFC bank was 57.55 RS + 1000 transaction fee and with Western Union it was 59.19. So with 6518CAD fee, its 10-12 thousand more with Western Union. It was a daylight robbery by western union.

But today the price of CAD is even less in HDFC and Western Union is showing 57.80 which is respectable. So I think better to stick with Western union if the price difference is around 1000-2000rs.

It went well and super fast. Only catch: I lost 10$ in the process. Instead of deducting from my savings account, hdfc deducted it from the fee itself. Luckily I forgot that I already paid 250$ as part of confirmation so it did not matter much.

Hey,

Were you able to transfer directly to the account number mentioned above? Even my bank (State Bank of India) is not ready to transfer the money to Western Union

Direct wire trasfer is not available.
I had contacted university on this no.
