Hi everyone,

I'm hoping someone can help me with a doubt that I have. In the Spousal Sponsorship application it states that my husband must do his medical upfront, however the approved doctor told us that she will submit the results online once we give her our case number. We obviously don't have the UCI number yet, so what should we do in this case? We want our application process as fast as possible, obviously, so I don't want to wait to submit the medical.

Anyone else encounter this issue? We're applying from Chile.

Thanks!

Hola ! Bienvenidos al foro :)

We are going through Lima office. Medical was upfront, results were sent by the clinic once medical check and all exams were complete (before application was submitted). We printed out the confirmation from clinic that was received by e-mail and sent it along with the application. As far as I understand the application cannot be considered complete without an upfront medical check being submitted. Is this the only approved doctor in the country? Try speaking to them again.. Ours gave us a bit of a hard time.. Made it seem more complicated than it was...

Have your husband tell the doctor its for spousal sponsorship and he needs an UP FRONT medical and the case number is not required.
If he still has problems after this you could call CIC and let them know the Doctor is not following procedure.

Thank you both for the help. We've been trying to get in touch with the doctor for over a week, but we'll keep trying and maybe call CIC to see what options they offer. It's quite frustrating as our application is complete, this is the only thing we're waiting on!

Some doctors (or receptionists) don't know what they're talking about, even if they're listed as panel physicians. I had this problem too the first time I called them to ask about costs etc. and basically they refused to do the medical without a case number claiming that they needed it to upload the results to the system. I had to fax them a copy of the official document checklist and explain the difference between outland and inland applications before they understood the concept ???

Keep trying, or check with another panel physician who might be better informed.

That's what happened to us . Only panel physician in the country, and they had to be explained that even needed the medical exam before submitting the application..

Thanks, all. The doctor is finally cooperating and will send us the upfront notification document confirming that it's been done. I'm so excited/nervous to finally get the application sent out, ready to start the waiting process. Thanks again!
