Hey guys.

My partner’s UK Passport is expiring. We have to get it done soon, with Brexit happening he needs it updated for travel to Europe that we have planned. We recieved AOR on Feb 8, 2019 and Biometrics have been completed. (App is outland) Now we wait for Medical Request and VO transfer. We were going to send away for the passport renewal today, but what happens if he gets his medical exam request during this time? Is the medical request linked to his passport? Will he have to show that specific passport when he gets his medical done? Ideally we would love to wait until medical is done but we don’t know when the medical is going to be requested, and he needs new passport for EU travel! UGHHHH Brexit sucks!!!!!!!

How long does it take to get a new passport anyway? In my (EU) country normal processing is about three weeks, but you can pay extra to have it in 48 hours.

Yes, he will need to bring his passport to the exam.

I do believe that if he does get the medical request while his passport is still being processed (and it takes more than 30 days to get the passport, which is how long you have to go do the exam), that you can ask for more time. They are used to people needing new passports and getting that info updated, so I don't think there should be any real trouble, but you can wait for some other replies to confirm as I personally didn't have to deal with new passports and needing time extensions so I don't have first hand experience.

Thank you! We actually got MR like 15 minutes after I inquired, so will just update Passport once Medical done. Talk about good timing lol.
