So, if I want to get CPP-O to update my file, can I just send an email with my name, date of birth, UCI, file number, and the application type (CEC)?

Can the information be in plain text, or does it have to be in a PDF format?

Thanks again for the help :)

plain text is fine. What are you trying to update?

It doesn't have to be pdf, it can be a plain email and has to include all the identification details you have just mentioned.

Just a cover letter explaining how the duties listed in my reference letter matches those in my NOC. In one of the duties the wordings of the reference letter does not directly (read: no words matching) the description in the NOC.

Not quite sure what you are implying here. Your duties shouldnt match the NOC description word for word anyway. Dont think I understand. Did you copy/paste the NOC duties? As long you do the majority of the duties and your position is in line with the main statement, you are good to go.

I wont send them any thing unless they ask for it. Under the new rules they will contact you if they have any doubt with your work exp before making the decision. This is just my point of view

Do you have a link to the new rules?

The reference letter said I have my research results published in scientific journals while I was hired.

One of the duties for the NOC says "Carry out analysis of research data and prepare research reports".

I wasn't sure if the VO would realize that the results mentioned my reference letter corresponds to the analysis I did. And the results are included in research reports. I wrote them an email explaining the gap.

I'm aware of the 12,000 cap. It doesn't apply to me as I apply months before. And where does it say they will ask for my duties if it's not clear?

I put all the information on how to contact CIC on my website:

Also, don't send useless information to CIC or stuff they don't ask you for. If you've submitted a reference letter with
all your duties, and the duties match the NOC you applied under, then there's no need for clarification.

gladaki, I think the new rules for procedural fairness may only apply for applications submitted after Nov 9th.

But those new rules where they email you with any doubts only apply for November 2013 applicants and onwards. Or do you think it will also apply for applications that are in CPP-0 but yet to be processed?
