Update to Personal Identification Document

Hi,

I have a question. I submitted my citizenship application last June 4 (received June 8) but no AOR yet. I renewed my passport a few days prior and I just received my new passport with my updated name (I did a legal name change prior to submitting my application and included the necessary documents with the application) and of course validity date and passport number. How do I update CIC with the change in passport?

It completely left my mind to just wait until I receive my updated passport before submitting my application..

You can send them an email using web forms. I had few typing mistakes that I realized after I had submitted my application. Once I received AOR the next day I sent them an email with all the details and my information was corrected. Good luck!

Ah ok, would you then recommend that I wait for my AOR before sending them a message through the web forms..? I guess so, eh? Cause I don't have like an ID or something about the application yet.

Yes, it’s better to wait since you don’t have the application number to quote when sending in documents.
