I am now a PR and am going for vacation to India in about 12 days.

Any suggestions on what would be good things to buy here from Canada to take to India. (p.s: baggage Allowance is two 23 kg check-in bags.)

Thank you

For my trips to Asia, I usually buy and take certain foods that are grown in BC and not available at stores there. Things such as honey, blueberries, pears, Macintosh apples and home made jams. Sometimes, I helped my friends to buy shoes, clothing and other merchandise or they do their online shopping and I add them to my check in baggage.

Please refrain from making multiple post btw.

I see TVs in India are more expensive compared to in Canada. Not sure how would it be If I was to take one from Canada to India. Any thoughts?

i wouldn't advise to bring in TV because of Voltage as you would know 110 vs 220 .. and the power surges in india would ruin it

i usually get Nuts & dried berries and stuff which isn't available in India..

Thanks, just booked the flight via Air China. Wondering - can I bring my own snacks in carry on baggage (did call Air China customer service to ask but they were of no help). If so any suggestions on what would be good ones to bring onboard for the long 27hrs trip from Canada to India?

But be wary of what security will or will not let you through with in carry on unless you buy airside.

Yes available online (overseas) & will attract heavy custom taxes & other charges which the delivery guy wont explain or give a bill with details/breakdown. Basically after all custom/ import taxes/duties you will end up paying $50 for a $10 item.

Not to forget that your item will get stuck in customs, they will ask for thousand documents, so a lot of stress & time-consuming.
