Unpaid Leave

We are a church employing someone on a Temporary Religious Worker Visa. Our employee is wishing to take several weeks of unpaid leave in 2020 which we are happy to accommodate. However we want to make sure that our employee would be ok to travel both in Canada and overseas during those weeks without being in breach of her visa. Does anyone know where she and we would stand on this?

Canada doesn't require foreign workers to remain here. She can travel wherever she wants in Canada. If she requires a TRV and leaves Canada, she must have a valid TRV to return.

Thanks. So as long as she has a valid TRV it's no issue for her to take unpaid leave and then return to her work when she returns to Canada a few weeks later?
