Unpaid employment as unemployed

Hello all,
I have few questions regarding my express entry Profile
Currently I am in filling my EOI/pre-ITA applicaiton.
previously I submitted my EOI for express entry but withdrew it later as I had an insufficient IELTS score.
1)Do I need to mention in my application that I have applied for and withdrew later and provide details.
After my Ms I worked as an unpaid employee.for 12 months.
Do I need to mention that or can I mention it as Unemployed and provide a letter of explanation stating that I was learning courses and seraching for a job.
I am not claiming points for those.
please can you suggest with this issue please

1. No. A profile is not an application
2. Do not claim your unpaid work as unemployment. That last thing you want to do is lie to IRCC. If you are not claiming points for it, no need to mention it in the profile. Post ITA you can put this the in personal history section of the application form
