Unlawful in US - Eligible for PR. Will my status affect my application?

I am AN Indian citizen and currently hold unlawful in the US. I entered US legally and my spouse is a US citizen. Unfortunately my application for green card got rejected. While I have reapplied, the chances of getting green card are slim. I am eligible for Canadian PR and want to know if my unlawful status will affect my application PR in Canada?
