University of Calgary Fall 13 Applicants

Hi everyone,

I have applied for MSc in Chemical engineering with specializing in petroleum engineering.
X-70%,
XII-78%
Btech in chemical engineering from NIT-Surat, 67%
4 years working experience in Cairn Energy.
6 months research experience in ISM-dhanbad.

Do anyone got any reply from the university regarding admission decision.
Anyone know approximately when they start giving rejection or acceptance letter.

I'm an applicant from the Philippines for the MS in Veterinary Medical Sciences.
Luckily, I already received my Offer of Admission Letter.
GWA 3.54 out of 4.0
IELTS 8.0
As far as I know, decisions are made within 4-6 weeks after the deadline.

Hello sayan198. I received my letter of offer last April 3 (I think it's still April 2 in Calgary since I'm 15hours ahead of Calgary). I applied during the first week of February but I think they started checking out my documents after the March 1 deadline for my program. I don't know if our programs have the same admission procedures since I need to have a research supervisor first as one of my requirements. It became easier for me to apply since I have a professor advising me on what to do. Hopefully you get your letter of offer soon! -DocRZ

in my program the dead line was 15th March and I applied in First week of March so when do you think they reply on my application ?
I asked them once they said in last week of April and another time they said 2nd week of may

@bhags i think calgary clearly mentions in their faq for particular progs when the decision will be made.....for ece its given in ece website faq.better check for ur prog

but not given in FAQ of my program , i applied for Master of Petroleum Engineering....i know for ece they reply in April

Hi Bhag_07! I think you just have to wait as what the program coordinator for Masters in Petroleum Engineering told you. In my experience, they are pretty straight forward people. When they told me to wait for 4-6 weeks for the decision, they really gave me a decision within that span of time. Maybe they are just collecting all the applicants documents before they do the assessment. There might be many applicants for your program since Calgary is a petroleum rich city and that they want to make sure they get the best students. Good luck! -DocRz

By the way, has anyone of you know about the handling time for online visa application? Manila Visa Office says their average handling time for Student Visa is 15 weeks since they process visa for Japanese and Koreans too. I might not be able to get to Canada in time for the Fall Term... Thanks!

sorry but i am not much aware of that right now...just waiting for acceptance then i will go for visa application
but my friend filed for visa application and he got it within a month...so i dont think it will take 15 to 16 weeks

Bhags,Same here I am also applying for masters in petroleum engg, and waiting for any decision. Actually I tried many times via mail and phone, but no response.

Docs, ours deadline is 15th march, so that means 2nd-4th week of April we can expect any decision.

have you sent LOR in University mentioned format ? cuz one my friend sent it normally (not in university of calgary form) , he got rejected
