I do not work so do I need to send in a copy of my bank accts showing I can support my husband? Also, does my american husband have to show his income from the usa?

Yes you have to send in proofs of support along with your application.
As for your american husband no need too send in his bank assessment.
At least I didn't and I am the applicant, it wasn't a problem.
