Dear Members

My parents just received their TR visas to Canada.

I would like to know the following information.

They are allowed only to stay 6 months Max. and then they must leave Canada. How long till they come back ?
Is it only 6 months a year ? or they can leave for couple of months and come back to Canada.

Please Educate me on this matter.

They are allowed as much as the CBSA officer sees fit at the time they enter Canada. That can be anywhere from 1 day to 6 months.

There is no set rule. The CBSA officer will evaluate if their leng stay and frequency is the expected pattern of a person in their case. If they start behaving like if they were living in Canada instead of visiting that would render a shorter allowable stay and eventually refusal.

Thank you so much for that.

I have another question for you, if they apply for 2 years extension, is it gonna hurt them in the future upon renewal of visa ?

I don't even know if they can apply to stay for that long.

If you want them to stay longer, why not apply for a super visa?

Yes you can apply for as much time as you want. Of course you will have to show why Canada should let them "visit" for that long.

No, it won't.
