Is there a topic detailed explaining how the iland process works? For instance, after receiving an email sent by CIC informing they have received the application, what happens after that? Why on ecas there's two status for the application, such as Sponsorship Application (In Process) and Permanent Residence Application (Application Received), what is the difference? Are they analyzing the sponsor themselves to see if they are eligible, and they haven't touched the permanent resident application, and will only do so after?

Exactly. They check into the sponsor first and then the applicant. They will look through the applicant part but they won't go through it with a fine tooth comb until after the sponsor has been approved.
