Understanding ECA report

Hi Members,

I am currently updating my EE profile with my spouse's ECA details and have the below query.

The report in nutshell is as below :

1. Masters in Business Administration : Canada equivalency = Master's
2. Bachelors in Commerce : Canada equivalency = Bachelor's (4 years)
3. Masters in Commerce : Canada equivalency = Postgraduate diploma (1 year)

I am confused as to what to choose in EE profile for # 3 education credential! I am leaning towards Two or more degrees but help would be appreciated.

Also, how much time it takes for the updated scores to reflect in my profile as I did some initial changes today afternoon but my points are still to be reflect the increase.

Two or more degrees doesn't get you as many points as a Masters. Since the ECA says that she was assessed as having the equivalent of a Masters, go with that.

The summary says Master's. However for EE profile, it asking for Canada equivalency for each individual education and I am confused in that, I am pretty sure that I would get points for Master's as it is the highest education recognised.

Put the equivalent for each degree listed. Masters for the MBA, 1 year Graduate for the MComm, and Bachelors for the BComm.

Does it take time to reflect the change in score in the profile ? My scores are still unchanged with spouse education points showing as 0?

There will be two questions when u key in education details

For the Bachelor's,

Degree Equivalent :- Bachelors
ECA level :- Masters ( you need to give the WES #)


For the Master's

Degree Equivalent :- Masters
ECA level :- Masters ( you need to give the WES #)

Does it take time to reflect the change in scores after making and submitting changes? If yes, aprrox what timespan we are looking at?

Its almost 24 hrs when I made these changes but my CRS scores are the same still with Spouse education still showing as 0.Yes, I have transmitted the changes made.

It does take 24 hours or longer, at times. If you've done everything correctly at your end, give the system time. There is no draw till Friday at least so you have a lot of time.

Thanks Asivad. I just hope it updates before this friday's draw there is any. Also, against my OP, I have selected One year program, degree for the post grad diploma education, hope it's correct.

You can choose to exclude everything except that MBA and you'll still get 10 points there.

For the PG Diploma, choose 'Two or more...' option.

I do not believe we have a specific Finance option to choose from, so go with Business/Commerce, I have done the same.

Select Master's for MBA and Bachelors for Bachelors, you will be getting points for Masters anyways

No. But 3 years of Bachelors AND 2 years of Masters degree May be equal to a single 4 year Canadian Bachelors degree.
