Hi,
I mentioned in a previous post that I'm moving back to Quebec next August for school and would like my wife to come with me. I understand she needs to apply for a CSQ first, but we're a little uncertain as to how to go about this. Which CSQ form would I fill out? There's one form only available in French saying, "Demande de Certificat de Sélection - Catégorie du regroupement familial," and another one available in English titled, "Application for Selection Certificate - SKILLED WORKER." I have no idea which one, if not both, we have to fill out. Any help or pointers would be MUCH appreciated!
Thanks!

If you're going to be sponsoring your wife for PR then you need to complete: "Demande de Certificat de Sélection - Catégorie du regroupement familial,"

Hi! It really depends on what are you guys gonna do.
If you are gonna sponsor your wife (which will be ideal) you MUST go first to CIC immigration Canada outland processing (if your wife is abroad) they will authorize you to go to MICC (immigration quebec) and demand a CSQ under the family sponsorship category. which will allow her to live in quebec when the process with CIC finishes. (means, she will become a permanent resident of CANADA and thanks to the csq she will be a quebec resident too) Then she will be able to work, study and everything like a regular citizen (only difference is: no Canadian passport and no right to vote) rest of obligations and rights are the same.

NOW, in case you are not sponsoring her and shes coming "on her own". She has to decide if she wants to study or work, cuz that will determined the kind of visa that she will apply for. I came here as a student and stayed to apply for PR as my husband is a Quebecois, we met at the university, so I speak from my own experience. When you come "as a student" you have to first apply from abroad to a university, once you get admitted, sent the admission letter to MICC... if approuved, youll get a CAQ (certificate daceptation du Quebec) not a csq. If she wants to work then she has to apply for a work visa and csq. Both cases you have to pass throught immigration Canada too, instruccions are on their website www.cic.gc.ca and www.micc.gouv.qc.ca

Take note that if you are legally married, shes gonna have to declare that if she demands a student or worker visa. The fact that you are stablished in quebec might play against you, since immigration will think that shes attempting to stay.
in case you guys are planning to stablish in quebec - Canada and your relationship is real. Ill sugest to apply for a PR, outland.
Or if you have doubts, you can call CIC. they can explain better.

Hope it helps!
