Type of Verification CIC or local Visa office performs for your Application

Does anyone has any idea of what type of verifications does CIC performs, i.e do they only call the one mentioned/signed your letter or do they call at the company and randomly verifies with HR.
anyone has similar kind of experience or so, pls share?
As there is some clash with the designation with my manager, so if i put my own, will that create confusion thats why wanna know to what extent do they verifies your application.

well, if the manager was the one who made your reference letter and you sent his business card along with your file, he will be the one they will call.

i was not able to get the business card, is it necessary to submit the card?
Also, apart from call is there any site visit type of verification done?

Any thought on this?
