Dear Friends & Gurus,
I have got the PR card some time back but looks like I may not be able to move within the exact two year period required for maintaining the PR. So the question is;

Does immigration normally accommodate e.g. you have lived in Canada for 20 months instead of 24!

Also if you have visited Canada for brief periods (two weeks, 5 days etc.) after getting the PR - do they seek proof at PR renewal time!
If you have had any experience first hand, it'll be really helpful.

Basically live in Canada for a total of two years out of 5,Fail to do so and your PR card is toast No ifs or buts

The rules say 2 years so if they would allow you to get away with 20 months, why not 18, 16, 12, 0 etc. Your 2 weeks and 5 days here and there count but you don't want to make something up that isn't true. They do work with the US border and I don't know who else. They scan you when you arrive so they know all the dates you arrived but working with other countries, they might know all the dates you left too.

If you do get in undetected, do not apply for a new PR card until you have your 24 months. There is no law that says PR's have to have PR cards. You just can't travel without one.
