I submitted my application mid-June knowing I would be travelling for two months this summer. Unfortunately the Medical Requirement form I filled in saying ´no´ to glitched and uploaded blank, so they asked me to get a medical examination. This has not been possible seeing as I have been travelling continuously in South America. I made my mum a representative and she uploaded the form again with it definitely ticked, but they have not amended my application. Now I fly on the 31st, and they have not replied to my message. I don´t know what to do - even if I get the unnecessary medical exam (that will cost me 300 pounds I definitely do not have) I will only be able to upload it less than a week before I go, so I don´t think it´ll be processed on time anyway. Any advice (say if I can get a temporary Visa) will be greatly appreciated. I may be going slightly crazy.

It's too bad you already have a flight booked. In the future, you should never book a flight until you have a confirmed visa.

You can certainly try applying for a TRV - impossible to say if it would be processed in time for you to travel.

If you do manage to secure a TRV, be aware that it is illegal for you to start your studies until you have an approved study permit in hand. Additionally, if your study permit is not approved by the 31st, then you should expect CIC to inform you that you have to postpone your studies to the next semester (January start) in which case you wouldn't have an approved study permit for September and wouldn't be able to start your studies as planned.

Thank you for the reply - what is a TRV and can I apply for one on the cic site? My studies don't begin until September 7thish so I would have an extra week.

Normally I wouldn't have booked my flights but I applied for the permit over two months in advance. Either I fly there and get a permit or my entire study year goes to pot. Thanks again for the info
