Two Statutory Declarations from friends/family

Hello there.

Just a quick question for you all.

So after weeks and weeks of putting this application together my partner and myself are almost at the finishing line and can't wait to send it in the mail. However, what we're waiting on now is letters of reference from friends and family about our genuine common-law relationship.

At the moment we have about 10 letters, but we've noticed on the Appendix A Check List for the immigrant (that's me) that we need at least two statutory declarations. Now, I know it doesn't state 'notarized' but isn't that what a statutory declaration is and if that is the case is it okay for people to scan their letters with the attached declaration and send them in an email or does it have to be the originals?

To be honest we're just trying to save on the time it's going to take for them letters to arrive in the mail - we're currently in Korea and we're still waiting on the option C printout from Canada that was sent about 2 weeks ago.

I sent the originals because the notary stamp on US documents is a raised imprint on the page and did not copy/scan well. Is it possible that you could ask two people who know you in Korea (possibly your landlord, co-worker, or neighbor) and save the wait time for mail?
