Two Quick Questions

Question 1- We applied for Vistors visa extension and PR app at end of July. We have heard nothing back on Visitors visa. We know the 1st one took a few months but do extensions take as long? We know it was received because we tracked it with the courier. Really afraid to call and ask because I don't want him to leave.

Question 2- He will be brining his truck here (well its here right now but will be here perm if he gets PR). The truck is fully paid for. Does he have to pay any fees for brining it here?

1) Is the visitor Visa expired and then the extension is filed then there can be a reason to worry about. If u filed for the extension before the expiry then it should not be a problem and you can inquire the status by calling CIC. Currently they are processing July 9th cases so you should hear something in coming weeks for the visitor visa.

2) You can call CIC and check for the fee if needed to be paid again for bringing the vehicle back

There is a fee for the federal inspection - $204 plus whatever it costs to bring the car up to code for the federal inspection. Also there will be a fee for the provincial inspection - depends on the province. As a new permanent resident you wont have to pay TAXES on the import of your car.
