hi, I need to sponsor my wife, I am Canadain since 2005, and we have a daughter she is also canadian. while filling the application, there's two decleration forms in part 3. first one to authorize childrens, and the other one for the grant admission. do my wife need to fill those forms noting she has no other childrens. should I say "not applicaple" on those forms?

the other question, in form IMM 1344 A, they asked for when I became a canadian citezen, in the citizenship certificate they put 2005/ 05 while I the oath was on October 2005, when one is correct?

As far as I know the date on ur canadian certiifcate and oath should be same. So in the citizenship certificate u
you saying it says MAY 2005 but you took your oath on the October 2005....are you sure about that, hows that possible? Btw when did you gave the test, was it on May 2005?? You should follow the date you went for your Oath or much better call them up and see. Because the date on your certificate and oath date should match.

The date you became a citizen is the date you took the oath. This was specifically said to my group at the ceremony that the paper citizenship certificate is the only piece of paper that shows this date so hang on to it. The plastic card shows an earlier date, even a few months earlier. Mine says 05-2008 but my oath was in August 2008.

I can only assume that they pre-make the plastic cards once they have cleared your application even before you have taken the exam or oath.

Leon is right! my citizenship card had the date 08/2006 (probably it was the date when they printed it) but i had my oath in 04/2007...that's the date when u become citizen and only that congratulating certificate is showing it...me too it took me some time to find the exact date

about the children question, i do not know, maybe that one is for children who r also sponsored and not Canadian citizens yet or for children from previous relationships...did u check their guides or try to search on this forum?
