Hi,

I have read about dual intent on the official website but still a little be confused. I applied for IEC back feb 2020 and I submitted an application for PR just a few days ago. now that two applications are being processed at the same time. My question is, Do I have to cancel the IEC application or it will interfere with my pr application? Or can I just simply leave my IEC application aside even though I might not use that visa afterall? Thank you so much. really appreciate for a response.

No - you certainly don't have to cancel the IEC application. You are fine to leave both applications to process. There's really no impact of having both.

thanks for your prompt reply. so in other words it is ok to have both temp visa and PR granted? how about when entering Canada? will there be any problems? Thank you for your advice

Yes, it's fine.

I'm not sure what you mean by entering Canada. If the IEC is approved first, then you can enter Canada on a temp basis. If the PR application is approved first or both are approved at more or less the same time, then I think logically you would enter Canada as a PR.
