Hi, hope whoever is reading this have had a great day.
Me and my husband met in Canada, we were both international students back then. We got married in Toronto. He’s Solomon Islands citizen, after our first daughter was born, he had to move back to his home country because of his family issue. I received PR invitation at that time, but decided to give it up and follow him. Until now, we’ve been living in Solomon
Life goes up and down, our marriage is now on the edge of broken down. However Solomon Islands doesn’t have international divorce option.
How do I file divorce in this case? Should we both come back to sign divorce paper? Canada is no longer our residence country, won’t be qualified for foreign visitor divorce rule, which I suppose applicant has to live in Canada for at least 1 year. Can we still divorce in Canada? Or let me rephrase my question, how can we successfully and legally get divorced?
Thank you very much.
