Hi folks,

I have read a lot about people applying to visit their Canadian boyfriend/girlfriend/spouse in Canada, but I haven't read that many posts where the Canadian lives with them in their country.

My partner has been denied TRV 3 times. This will be our last attempt. The first 2 were for 1 trip in February 2011, when I was in Canada. She was denied on the basis of insufficient funds and lack of strong ties to her home country. She tried for a business trip in July 2012, but was again denied (although they only responded after the trip date had passed.)

We want to apply for a trip in April 2013. We'll likely apply before Christmas, so we can cancel everything if need be (hopefully not). We will also order her GCMS/CAIPS notes for the previous refusals.

So, has anyone been succesful in getting a TRV to go home and visit? I do not live in Canada. I live with my partner in Russia. We have an apartment and we both have solid jobs (although mine does pay much more than hers). We also have a trip planned in May 2013 to Helsinki to see some of the IIHF World Championships. The main basis for our trip is that the IIHF Women's World Championships are in my hometown, Ottawa. I also have not been home since August 2011.

Do we have a chance? Her situation has changed drastically since her last application, and even more so from her refusals in 2011. (New marital status, new job, living with me, I'm in Russia)
