We have just applied for my wife's PR, and in about 5 months we want to apply for a TRV for my wife to come and wait it out in Canada with me, and our 2yo daughter.

We want to be honest when applying for the visa, and state in black and white that the purpose of the visit is to wait for her PR, and of course tourism and sight seeing.

If the PR is denied for any reason (or when the TRV expires), we will leave Canada, but how to prove that?

Some forum members have been able to get a TRV after the PR application was filed. Include proof you have applied for the PR visa, and state your intentions: to visit your spouse in Canada while waiting for the PR app to be processed. The applicant will still need proof of ties to her homeland: job, lease or mortgage, money in the bank, a return ticket. She can also attach a letter stating that she wants to abide by the TRV rules because she does not want to jeopardize her PR application.
Most get refused, but some do get the TRV under these circumstances. I hope some of the successful ones can post here and explain exactly what they submitted.
