TRV (Visitor Visa) Change to a Spousal Open Work Permit - Accompanying with an active PR holder

Hi,

I am having an active PR Status and left Canada, only 10 days after my first landing due to personal reasons. However, now I am going back to Canada on Feb'18 to start afresh. My status at the time when PR was granted was single and now I am married.

I had recently applied for the wife's TRV and that has been granted and visa stamped (visit visa valid until passport expires).

She is flying with me to Canada in Feb'18, wherein I will be on a PR entry and she will be accompanying me on her visitor visa.

A few queries that I have are as follows:
1. In case I am on a PR and she is on a Visitor Visa. Will there be any issues that we might face at the Canadian Border Immigration?

2. Can I apply for her Open Work Permit (OWP) as soon as we land in Canada, without having to actually wait for, to apply for her PR application?

Post reading through some of the threads, I could find that there are mentions to flagpole and get the SOWP right when you make entry at the airport. Is that possible? and should it be done? What is the procedure?

Can someone please help.

1. There shouldn't be any issues provided she has a return ticket. Remember that she is only allowed to visit Canada at this time - not move here or live here.
2. No - you can't. The OWP can only be submitted with the completed inland spousal sponsorship application.

SOWP does not apply to your situation. She would only qualify for a SOWP if you were a foreign worker or international student in Canada.
