Hi every body,
Somewhere I read: Last year 2018, overall 1 out of 4 applications were granted visit visa to Canada.
But i have never seen any one who is resident of UAE has got visitor visa to Canada. Certainly my exposure is in Toronto and among friends and relatives ... and kind of limited but I am comparing the same limited exposure to a kind of similar limited exposure to other visa offices like Turkey. I have seen at least 4 -5 visitors from Turkey office ...
My understanding is that Abu Dhabi office rate of approving visit visa is 0.01 %
Am I the only one who thinks like this or there are other people who think the same?

Same in Saudi Arabia, 99% Refusal rate .
Saudi refusals are for expatriate, I am guessing. Not for Saudi nationals. The main issue is that since the residency visas are not permanent in Dubai and Saudi, visa office is considering us unstable, which I understand. The main issue I have is that they do not even open the file and read through!!! The acknowledgement email come at 12:00 and refusal is in 5 to 10 minutes!!!! It is really disappointing. They see visit visa applications as cash cow and profit making centre! Simply because there are many applications and incoming applications never stop, the take the opportunity to get in as much as they can and routinely refuse them. (By the way, this "cash cow" story is my story, I read it somewhere and there was a class action against it ...)

OTTAWA — Applications for temporary resident visas issued to visitors, students and temporary workers in Canada have more than quadrupled since 2015, stretching the Immigration Department’s ability to process them, according to a federal report.
The Immigration Department’s annual plan shows that in the fiscal year that ended March 2018, officials issued more than 5.7 million temporary visas and electronic travel authorizations, an increase from the 1.3 million issued two years earlier.
Federal officials say the surge is due in part to an increase in international tourism in Canada — something the federal government has been trying hard to achieve..........
