Guys,

I have applied for TRV visa counterfoil as my WP is extended recently.
I am also planning to apply PR this week. Got ITA in 6th draw and invited under FSW category.

This link got me really worried.

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/resources/tools/temp/visa/processing/pr.asp

It says "All in-Canada class applicants, except those in the spouse and common-law partner in Canada class (IP 8) and the permit holder class, must not be inadmissible at the time of their PR application. Therefore, if these TRV applicants return to Canada on temporary resident permits (TRP), they are, by definition, inadmissible and their applications for permanent residence from within Canada will be refused under R72(1)(e)(i), regardless of how close to finalization the application is at the CPC-Vegreville or at an inland CIC office. In-Canada officers have no option but to refuse these applications."

Should I decline my ITA and wait until I get my TRV and then re-apply ?? I have only 4 days to either apply for PR or decline..
Pls clarify...

Anybody?

Do you know the difference between a TRP and a TRV?

The Temporary Residence Visa (TRV) lets you stay in Canada. The Temporary Residence Permit (TRP) is used to overcome inadmissibility.

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/inadmissibility/permits.asp

In other words, if you are otherwise inadmissible (due to criminality), and you come from a country that doesn't do visa waiver, you will get a TRV and a TRP.

If you are not criminally or medically inadmissible, you don't get a TRP.

So, if you have a TRP you are (by definition) inadmissible, and your PR application will be refused when you come in. If you are not inadmissible, then they take that into consideration (that you have approval in principle), so it only helps.

In other words, if you have a TRP, you aren't getting PR anyway, so there's no point in bothering. If you don't, you don't need to worry about it.

Hi,
I applied my PR application on March 7th and on March 9th I applied BOWP and BOWP is approved on May 9th and I applied TRV which has been approved so I spend my passport to get stamp as I have plans to leave the country on June 10th for 2 weeks ...

Does this affect my PR application which is In Process .
