Hello Seniors,

On WP currently and applied PR through CEC. I would like to clarify on the below -

1. If one has to apply for TRV (Temp Resident Visa), after BOWP is applied and received?
2. TRV can it be applied online like BOWP? Could some one post the link, please?
3. Could i apply TRV for my dependants as well at the same time as mine?
3. What is the dis-advantage if any, if not applying for TRV?

4. Even if doing WP extension via LMO, applying for TRV is no different - right?

Appreciate your answers. Thanks in Advance!

TRV is required only if you want to go out and reenter to Canada, If you are going to continue in Canada valid WP is sufficient
2. TRV can it be applied online like BOWP? Could some one post the link, please?
TRV application can be done online but need to send passport to Ottawa for stamping up on request
3. Could i apply TRV for my dependants as well at the same time as mine?

Yes,possible when paper application ,but not sure you can do it online for all of them together

3. What is the dis-advantage if any, if not applying for TRV?
Incase you go out Canada due an emergency situation at back home , To travel back you need to obtain TRV from Canadian consulate in your home country, this may be difficult or time taking

4. Even if doing WP extension via LMO, applying for TRV is no different - right?
WP extension and TRV are always different applications when you apply with in Canada, you need valid WP to apply for TRV within Canada and TRV will be issued only to your WP validity

Appreciate your answers. Thanks in Advance!

Hi,

I am due to get my PR in the next 2-3 months, but my TRV is expiring soon.
I am wondering if my valid work permit would suffice at the time of landing (after PR processing). If any of you were in the same situation, please let me know.

Thanks in advance.

You will get a single entry IM type visa after you will send passports to Ottawa after Passport Request. You will need TRV only if you travelling to Canada not from US or "adjacent" territories.
