I have a valid work permit and need to get my passport stamped at the earliest. I am from India and might be required to travel to India for a family emergency. If I send my documents to Buffalo is there a way to expedite it?

Also, I see that New Delhi processing times is 7 days but is it really so? I dont want to go to India without a stamp and get stuck there.

Please help.

It was possible before when they were accepting walk-ins, so you can actually visit the office and have your passport stamped. But someone told me they gonna change the rules and will no longer accept walk ins. Not sure if that became eddective or not.

Also, one other option could be mailing your passport and leave the country. Ask someone to check your mail and send it to your address back home once it arrives. Can be a risky option but might be a good one in emergency.

I need to for that as well, but only after my w/p is extended. Please update me regarding the latest processing times when you're done.

Good luck!

Here is the confirmation:

"Effective May 7, 2012, the Canadian visa offices in Buffalo and Detroit will no longer offer same-day non-immigrant services. Applicants for Temporary Resident Visas, Study Permits, Work Permits, Temporary Resident Permits, and Permanent Resident Travel Documents must submit applications by mail only"

But I didn't saw processing times anywhere of 7 days, it says 30 days.
