My mother applied for TRV from India. Her brother invited her for house warming party. She is working in government.
Documents provided while applying:
1. Invitation letter
2. Uncles house papers, income certificate, tax papers, passport, etc
3. Bank balance and provident fund(liquid money) of 16 lac rupees.
4. 2 weeks leave from job.
5. Property papers and assets assessment of about 3 crore rupees.

Her file got refused and reason is " purpose of visit".

I need your advice, does reapplying can help. If i do reapply what more documents do i need to add.

Hi Suraj,

Your mom will have to give more reasons than a house warming party to visit. For example: visit tourist places, meet family and friends, etc.... prepare a tentative day-by-day itinerary.

Also, do see my second post in this thread: http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/apply-for-supervisa-after-visitor-visa-rejection-t376758.0.html

Cheers

Thnks Bryanna, if my mother reapplies again by explaining day to day schedule is this going to help? Does this only reason of refusal means than visa officer is satisfied with other documents except purpose of visit?

Your mom must prove she has a clear idea of what she plans to see and do while in the country. A day-by-day itinerary for sightseeing/meeting relatives, etc will indicate a stronger purpose of visit which is not limited to a house warming.

Does this only reason of refusal means than visa officer is satisfied with other documents except purpose of visit?
It's not possible to say.

It does not hurt to submit a more solid application when you reapply. That's why I suggested going through the other thread
