Hi everyone,

I'm a post graduate work permit holder residing in Vancouver, Canada.
My wife had applied for her TRV as a dependent and requested a visa for the duration of my work permit.
We had submitted every document that was asked for by CIC yet the application was refused for the below given reason. :(

Given economic conditions, employment prospects, considering your travel history, economic establishment and family ties, I am not satisfied that you would respect the terms of your admission as a temporary resident in Canada.

Category: Temporary Resident Visa (more than 6 months)
Date of application: 8th November, 2016
Date of decision: 18th November, 2016

Documents submitted:
1. Passport
2. Travel history (1 country visited: Singapore)
3. Proof of funds
4. Requisition letter
5. Marriage certificate/photos
6. Medical
7. Family Information (My wife's parents live in India while sister lives in US)
8. Invitation letter (From myself)
9. Proof of employment, Pay stubs, bank statements

My work permit expires in December 2018.

We are planning to re-apply but the reason given doesn't give us enough clue on what was missing in the application, which we can fix in the new application.
We'd really appreciate if anyone can give us some inputs/ideas on what could be the possible reasons for refusal.

Thank you very much

Hi,
You would have to provide the application details for any one to give some inputs.

Hi Mr. Sharma,

I've updated the original post with the application details.
Thank you.

Hi,

Some of the pointers:
1. What did you specify in proof of employment? you should be providing letter from your employer describing your duties, designation, date of joining etc. And you can also provide letter of joining etc. Pay stubs for 6 months and bank account statement for 6 months with sufficient balance matching your income.
2. You can also provide your home rent agreement, your proof of address such as driver's licence etc.
3. Are you planning for open work permit for your wife? IF that is the case, then submit the documents as per that requirement ( i am not entirely sure on how that works. Probably other experts will weigh in). Can the length of stay be less than 6 months?
4. I hope you have attached your details with your letter of invitation such as you visa status etc.

Regards,
Sharma

No wonder you were denied. You made it obvious your wife is not a genuine visitor and you are trying to get her to Canada to live with you.

TRVs for people in your situation are hard to get and you made it harder with such an application as now the CIC officer will question the authenticity of future applications.

As Sharmag said, you need to apply for an SOWP, please ask for details in the correct subforum:
