Oh ok! Kindly check this to know if you will need a medical exam http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/medical/dcl.asp

You can either submit your application first and wait for the visa officer to ask for medical exam when he reviews your application or submit medical exam together with your application to avoid further delays in reviewing your application.

The visa officer can give you either a Single Entry or Multiple Entry Visa depending on how strong your documents are. Regarding the stay, it will be the border officer who will determine how long you can stay in Canada :)
Thanks!

Hello, kareem0822! People here in the forum always say that visitors who have Canadian partners have difficulty getting a visa because of the possibilty of the person to overstay in Canada. I think more than the proof of your relationship, what you have to gather are documents that will show you have strong ties in Japan and that there is a need for you to come back to Japan at a certain time. :)

But the fact that you are about to meet only for the first time may not go in favor of you.

Hi Khris! What are the supporting documents that need to present or submit? My brother in law is currently working in Saipan Island, a territory of the US and he wants to apply a visit visa to visit us here in Canada. Thanks

Hello, ShinLee! I am not sure what documents if the person is not living in his home country. But he can present documents relating to his work like Certificate of Employment, his current contract with his employer (I think it will help if his contract will not expire anytime soon), paystubs, Leave of Absence Form, if he is renting he can submit his Lease Agreement, bank statements, daily itinerary in Canada with estimate expenses, travel history and cover letter :)

How many weeks of stay will he request?

Thanks for this Khris. This really helps.

Every year, his company gives them a month vacation leave. I think 3-4 weeks.

Ok. Limit his request to maximum of 3 weeks. One month vacation will show weak ties to Saipan. And his bank account must have at least 1000CAD per week of stay. That amount is exclusive of airfare and accommodation :)

Thanks, Khris! His employment of contract will be ended in June 2018. But according to him, it will be renewed for another 2 years automatically. Is it okay to apply today and the plan to have a vacation is in July 2018?

Hello, Shinlee! The suggested time to apply is 3 months before the intended departure. But if you feel he will be given a multiple entry visa then he can apply anytime. He should provide the contract stating that upon termination, his employment will be renewed automatically and Leave form from his office. In July 2018, is he still considered employed?
