I am a international student looking forward to study in Canada by fall 2017. Initially I have enrolled for winter 2017 intake but I miss it since I could not obtain the visa on time. My visa got approved after the course started. Now I want to take my wife and kids with me to Canada and want them to be with me during my entire period of study. I am preparing their documents for visa application but not sure for which visa category to apply for my wife. I'm still in my home country and planing to leave for Canada by July. My wife's TRV already got refused once when applied together. Please help!

There are no categories for TRV for your wife, only TRV.

If she wishes to work then she needs to apply for a work permit and also for a TRV.

I am totally aware there isn't any TRV category. Are you saying she have to fill in TRV form even if she applies for OWP? My wife definitely wants to work.

Yes. She needs a WP and a TRV. A TRV for entering Canada and a WP to work.
